What is Individual Therapy?

Individual therapy, also known as psychotherapy or counseling, is a therapeutic process where a trained therapist works one-on-one with you to address personal challenges, emotional issues, mental health concerns, and life difficulties. The primary goal of individual therapy is to provide a safe, supportive, and confidential environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, gain insight into your experiences, and develop coping strategies to manage difficulties effectively.

During individual therapy sessions, the therapist employs various evidence-based techniques and approaches tailored to your specific needs and goals. These may include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, interpersonal therapy, and more. Through active listening, empathy, and collaboration, you can explore underlying issues, challenge negative thought patterns, and develop healthier ways of thinking and behaving.

Together we will also develop a plan to manage your symptoms effectively by addressing both the symptoms as well as the underlying cause.
